A thermodynamic study of the tantalum-oxygen system
نویسندگان
چکیده
An evaluation of the partial thermodynamic functions of the tantalum-oxygen system (up to O/Ta = 2.5) over the temperature range from 873 K to 3120 K is presented. The pressure-composition-temperature (p-C-T) relationship in the single-phase region of solid Ta has been investigated. The relationships for other phases where no data were available from the literature have been proposed by using thermodynamic analysis. The results are presented as the oxygen isobars superimposed on the phase diagram.

In this study, the phase diagram and thermodynamic properties of Ti-O system up to 30 mole percent of oxygen was calculated with Calphad method. In this range of oxygen, Ti-O system includes αTi, βTi and liquid phases. αTi and βTi were modeled by “sublattice” model and the model of liquid phase was modeled by “ionic liquid”. Gibbs energy parameters ...

In this study, a new proposed multi-generation system as a promising integrated energy conversion system is studied, and its performance is investigated thermodynamically. The system equipped with parabolic trough collectors and biomass combustor to generate electricity, heating and cooling loads, hydrogen and potable water. A double effect absorption chiller to provide cooling demand, a proton...
متن کاملFirst principles study of oxygen vacancy defects in tantalum pentoxide
First principles total energy calculations were performed to characterize oxygen vacancy defects in tantalum pentoxide (Ta2O5). A simplified version of the crystalline orthorhombic phase of Ta2O5 was used in this study. Results indicate that O vacancies in Ta2O5 can be broadly classified based on their location in the lattice. One type of vacancy that occupies the ‘‘in-plane’’ sites displays de...
متن کاملStudy of the reactivity of silica supported tantalum catalysts with oxygen followed by in situ HEROS.
We report on the reactivity of grafted tantalum organometallic catalysts with molecular oxygen. The changes in the local Ta electronic structure were followed by in situ high-energy resolution off-resonant spectroscopy (HEROS). The results revealed agglomeration and formation of Ta dimers, which cannot be reversed. The process occurs independently of starting grafted complex.
متن کاملThermodynamic study of an effective catalytic system, hydrogen peroxide and methyltrioxorhenium
The thermodynamic of the known and very effective catalytic system, hydrogen peroxide (H2O2) and methyltrioxorhenium (MTO) is studied in different solvents using UV-Visible spectroscopic method. The thermodynamic parameters (ΔG, ΔH and ΔS) for two equilibrium reactions, MTO + H2O2 ⇌ A + H2O and A + H2O2 ⇌ B.H2O (A, [MeRe(O)2(O2)]; B.H2O, [MeRe(OH2)(O)(O2)2]), are determined. The obtained free e...
